Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) on Tuesday announced the Class 10th result on its official website. The result has been declared online today morning on Board's official website - http://www.gseb.org/.
This year, the pass percentage of class 10th recorded at 60.64% which is 6.33% on the lower side as compared to 2019. However, this year the number of students securing over 90% makrs has seen a remarkable decline. This year a total of 1,671 students got 90% which was a drop of 3,303 students as compared to last year.
According to the board policy, in order to clear the examination a student would require to score at least D in each subject. In case he/she get E in any subject then they need to appear for the supplementary examinations.
GSEB had recently announced results for class XII science students.
This year around 10.83 lakh students appeared for the examination. The GSEB Class 10th exams got over just before the implementation of the nationwide lockdown by the govt of India to contain the Covid-19 outbreak. The first phase of nationwide lockdown was forced on March 25, 2020.
Last year result saw a dip of around 0.53% as compared to 2018. Around 67% students had cleared the exam in 2019. The English medium students posted a much higher pass out percentage than their counter parts. A total of 23.53% more students cleared their examination from English Medium as compared to Gujarati Medium students.

The Gujarat Board had started the paper evaluation work during the lockdown period but later, on government's directions, the Board stopped the paper checking work and only resumed it from April 26.
The Board deputed around 15000 teachers on paper checking/evaluation work. The result was this year about 15 days late due to pandemic.
The officials said that the result will be declared online.
