Any Issuer bank’s FASTag can be now recharged through My FASTag App using UPI payment. You can create a New UPI ID instantly and pay/recharge through any of your bank accounts, or pay using any BHIM UPI App active on your mobile. Money gets transferred directly from your UPI linked bank account to your FASTag Wallet/Account.
What is FASTag and how does it work?
FASTag is a vehicle tag that is equipped with radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip. The vehicles, in which the FASTag stickers are placed on the windshields, can pass through toll plazas as the vehicle's tag will automatically get scanned to collect toll digitally.
FASTag users will be provided with a 2.5 per cent cashback for 2019-2020 to incentivise more people to embrace the new system. Most of the toll plazas across the nation have been upgraded to enable cashless toll collection.
How to buy FASTag?
Vehicles manufactured and sold after December 1, 2017, already comes pre-fitted with FASTag. However, the owners of older vehicles must get the FASTag with a linked payment method to it. There are two different types of FASTags, NHAI tags and bank-specific tags.
Bank-specific FASTags are provided by 22 banks at designated branches, toll plazas operated by the assigned banks and at common service centres.
FASTag is a simple to use,reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll amount is deducted. The tag employs Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed on the vehicle’s windscreen after the tag account is active.FASTag is a perfect solution for a hassle free trip on national highways. FASTag is presently operational at 500+ toll plazas across national and state highways. More toll plazas will be brought under the FASTag program in the future
Note: Only the FASTag issuer banks which are live on UPI platform to accept FASTag reloads will appear in the list of banks in the App. Customers who have purchased an IHMCL FASTag can download this myFastag App and ‘Link IHMCL FASTag’ with their bank account.When user clicks on ‘Link IHMCL FASTag,’ system will ask for a reference number received on Email/SMS at the time of buying the tag from IHMCL FASTag vendor. The mobile number & email ID provided by the customer at the time of IHMCL FASTag purchase should be active and available to complete the tag linking.

How To Apply For Fastag Online Via Banks?
Visit the official website of the banks like SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank who are authorisied to sell FASTags.
Search and click on the 'Get FASTag' / 'Apply for FASTag' link shown on the homepage of the website.
Enter your mobile number. An OTP will be sent on the mobile number entered by you. Enter the OTP and click on submit.
Next, enter your personal details (name, email id, address etc, vehicle details (type of vehicle, registration number etc.. upload documents (like scanned copy of vehicle RC.
Review all the details filled in the application form before final submission.
After your submit application form online, you will be redirected to online payment gateway for fee submission.
Save the copy of FASTag receipt and payment receipt. You can also take a print out of the same for future reference.
How to apply for FASTag?
Visit any of the banks authorised to sell FASTags and submit online application form. Make the online fee payment and note down the reference number for future reference.
How to get FASTag offline?
Vehicle owners can visit any of the Point of Sale (POS. locations at Toll Plazas / Bank branches to collect FASTag offline.
What are the charges for FASTag?
FASTag has a onetime Fee of Rs. 200, Reissuance fee of Rs 100 and Refundable security deposit of Rs 200. (Note: The Security Deposit may vary depending on vehicle type.)
How to recharge FASTag account?
Go to the Customer Portal of your FASTag issuers and log in. Next, go to payments section and click on 'Recharge Account'. Make the payment online and click on Continue.
